The best arias and duets from operas and operettas
Tomas Pavilionis, the owner of the perfect lyrical voice, is celebrating his 40th anniversary this year with an exclusive celebratory concert together with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra and a number of his colleagues from the stage. Tomas Pavilionis, who plays the main tenor roles at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, is preparing a special programme for the gala concert, which will create an unforgettable evening for the audience with its solidity and pleasant surprises.
The programme of the festive concert will include arias and duets from well-known operas and operettas, performed together with Pavilionis by his most loyal colleagues and friends - well-known opera soloists. Maestro Constantine Orbelian will conduct the large group of performers.
Tomas Pavilionis graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a Master's degree in vocal studies (class of Prof. Vytautas Juozapaitis). During his studies he won the Stasys Baros Vocalist Competition (2nd prize in 2009 and 1st prize in 2010). From 2009 to 2014 he sang at the Klaipėda State Music Theatre, and since 2014 he has been a soloist at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2014 he was nominated for the Golden Cross and the Mask of Gratitude. In 2015 he received the LNOBT Opera Hope of the Year Award. In 2016 he recorded the role of Borsa in Verdi's Rigoletto on CD with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra and opera stars Dmitri Chvorostovsky, Nadine Sierra, Francesco Demuro, Oksana Volkova, Andrea Mastroni and others.
