Lila Kiejzik, starring Ewelina Saszenko, is the moving story of one of the most famous pre-war Polish actresses and singers, Hanka Ordonówna.The play is set in the interwar period, when Poland was going through turbulent political times and art and culture were experiencing their golden age. Ewelina Saszenko plays the role of Hanka Ordonówna, an extremely talented artist who became one of the biggest stars of her time."In Vilnius until 1941 Ordonówna organized recitals, sang in Pohulanka, Lutnia and Drama theaters. She settled near Lukiški Square, in front of St. Church of the Apostles Philip and Jacob. In this apartment, together with her husband, she was arrested by the NKVD and sent to the depths of the USSR. When the war between Germany and the Soviet Union started, they both managed to leave Tashkent and then reach Lebanon via India," writes Prof. Tomas Venclova in the book "Vilnius. A Biographical Guide”.The play presents not only the life and career of Hanka Ordonówna, but also shows the atmosphere of Poland at that time, where culture, art and entertainment played a very important role.
