Event description

Focusing specifically on the young audience, the "No Shoes" theater presents 10-14 year olds. an interactive, audiovisual and motion theater performance for teenagers. It tells the story of a dyslexic young man going through adolescence who grows up in a strict family that values academic achievement. Not wanting to disappoint his mother, hopelessly in love with the top of the class, he hides his "stupidity" as best he can, thus finding himself in curious situations.
The theme of the performance was not chosen by chance. According to the latest data, 10-15% of the population have neurological features associated with receiving and processing information, medically called dyslexia disorder. Currently, there is still a lack of awareness of the spectrum of dyslexia in Lithuania, and this feature is accompanied by a stigma. Students with learning difficulties due to dyslexia are considered incompetent or simply lazy. It is assumed that each class can have at least 2 children with a disorder that manifests itself as difficulties in reading and processing textual information.
The creation of the play is financed by the Lithuanian Council of Culture. The project partner is the Lithuanian Audiosensory Library.
