SURFACES / SURFACES - a region of spacetime bounded by system events. It is the boundary that separates a geometric body, a thought, a concept from external influences in any direction.
Author about the exhibition:
...Due to the very strong gravitational field, neither matter (e.g. elementary particles) nor electromagnetic waves (e.g. light) can escape from the "surfaces [micro/macro cosmos]". The creation of such a spacetime is for me a concept or even a phenomenon of infinity. So my abstractions, both in music and painting, are often linked to the negation of space and time, where time disappears in space and space disappears in time.
...If I had to say something about the subject of my paintings, I would say that they are not interior landscapes, still lifes or portraits. For me, the artistic landscape, still life or portrait is a surface - a structure, another spacetime that does not exist in reality, which is described as figurative. It is a reflexive model of abstraction, the figurative is reflected in abstraction. In this time, a politicised time, a social time, a time of war, the notion of infinity is the resolving factor.
...I remember forgotten surfaces all the time. Both in a historical sense and in an anti-temporal sense. This time with the help of oil pastels on paper.
