Petras Kurmelis is a hard-working peasant, who, under his mother's pressure, leads the farm out of frugality: the farm needs his daughter-in-law's dowry. But marriage does not bring happiness. He drowns his sorrows in vodka, constantly reproaching his dead mother, his angry father-in-law and the rest of the world for not advising him to look for a loving, rather than a moneyed, wife. This is a play about lovelessness in the family. Directed by Jonas Buziliauskas.
