Event description
The traditional Prienai Region Festival will take place on 17-26 May, encircling the wide valley of the Nemunas Loops with a rich programme, one of the events of which is an Improvised Fusion of Contemporary Dance and Live Music at the Historical Daukšiagirė Manor on 23 May
The epicentre of the structured improvised evening is the relationship between the body and sound. How is the body affected by sound and how does sound affect the body? Young generation contemporary dance artist Dominyka Markevičiūtė with jazz musician Ieva Baranauskaitė will invite the audience to a flow of artistic fusions, during which a magical exchange of energies between music and movement will take place.
Young generation contemporary dance artist Dominyka Markevičiūtė is a graduate of the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy. Although Dominyka graduated only last year, her professional map already includes works with renowned choreographers Palle Granhoj, Pietro Marullo, Nicolas Cantillon. Last spring, she was awarded a special prize at the Stuttgart Dance and Theatre Solo Festival for her performance of "Where the Shore" by choreographer Lukas Karvelis.
