The poet Sigitas Geda, who was born 80 years ago in Dzūkija, surrounded by woods and lakes and full of birds and fish, created an abundance of amazingly beautiful verses. His verses are recorded in songs in the hearts of many young and old Lithuanian children.
In a fairy-tale-sounding world, made of things that were and were not, live "White tick", "Children under the lilies", "The horse in the nursery", "Two little white penguins", "Salmon", the enchanting aromas of "Night flowers", "Mother's fern" spread , "Blossom of Nuts", "Television" flies to the country of childhood, "Old Cars", "Night with Potatoes Blooming", "Motule's Song" gives the greatest gift of love to the most important person in the world.
"When I was so big that I walked under the table, everything seemed to sing," wrote the poet. - "I still enjoy listening to people sing. If you ever try to pull a line, I will respond, no matter where I am..."
Therefore, the singers of the men's vocal group "Quorum" Laimonas Bendaravičius, Andrius Bartkus, Marius Turlajus, Gintautas Skliutas, Romanas Savickas and Šarūnas Navickas will reveal the secret that sung lines can sound amazing without the support of a single musical instrument. And don't be surprised if a trombone or trumpet suddenly plays. The percussion will definitely keep the rhythm, but all this will be magic, because only six of the most perfect and original instruments - human voices - will sound on the stage. Such singing is called a cappella. This time, professional singers will sing songs for children and not only for children, created by Lithuanian composers based on the lines of the poet Sigita Geda!
Listen to the amazing lines, great melodies and rhythms and you won't feel like singing along, and the people who sing are happy people! So we invite everyone - both big and small to the HAPPY PEOPLE concert!
