We would like to invite you to the presentation of writer Sigitas Parulskis's book "How I Quit" at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania.
"This book," writes the author. - It is about a man who decides to quit smoking, and this decision takes him very far away: into the past, into memory, into a journey of melancholic and joyful experience, into an imagination that sometimes crosses the boundaries of decency. And I want to invite others on this journey, no matter how egotistical I may be."
Sigitas Parulskis is a creator without frames. Poet, essayist, playwright, translator, critic. A writer whose latest books are awaited by readers, while those who don't read books look for his posts on social networks and in the media. A man who can not only accurately reflect the times in which we live, but also predict the future. Creativity, writing, is a daily need, a necessity and a state of being that helps to release the thoughts that have accumulated inside and often do not fit. "Through writing, I perceive the world and myself, I recognise humanity, the meaning of life, or at least the possibility of it," says the writer. Ironic, observant, unafraid to judge and evaluate, Sigitas Parulskis is considered a contemporary classic.
The author will be interviewed by poet and playwright Mindaugas Nastaravičius. Participants of the event will have the opportunity to buy the book and get the author's autograph. The presentation will take place in the Event Space of the National Library (3rd floor).
