The pantomime play "The Red Shoes" is based on the fairy tale "The Red Shoes" by Hans Christian Andersen, written in 1845. It is the story of a girl who is forced to dance non-stop with red shoes.
The girl dreams of fulfilling her wish to buy the red shoes she saw in the market. But her mother dies unexpectedly and she is left alone in a hostile world. The adults and her foster mother do not understand her.
Love for the red shoes plays a wicked joke on her...
