Remigijus Treigys usually presents single photographic cycles in his exhibitions, usually his most recent work. Only in Klaipėda, almost a decade ago, has he organised a retrospective exhibition covering the most prominent stages of his work. There has never been a wider presentation of his work in Vilnius. The exhibition "Tribuna" is the first one that gives an opportunity to see Treigis' work from its beginning in 1988 until 2023. Although the exposition consists of about fifty prints, it would be inaccurate to call it a retrospective. The latter would require much larger rooms to present the full development of the artist's work. Therefore, this exhibition has been shaped by highlighting and emphasising the most important, but by no means all, moments of Treygis' work. These include photography with the author's characteristic, recognisable expression and experimental works that also do not break the link with this medium. Even after abandoning the camera, Treigys uses the same principles - using light and chemistry to form his thoughts. And even though the latter works lose their real basis and acquire a kind of autonomy in relation to reality, it is the same reality of R. Treigys, his fields and times, the same "treigious" horizons. The idea of the exhibition is based on one of Treighi's first works, Tribune (1989). This work was chosen as the author's current position, as the moment from which all his creative activity began and the point to which he returns to review all that he has created over thirty years. Choosing a rather compact set of themes and expressions, the author has been making multi-layered and multi-dimensional photographs for several decades. Treigis' photography highlights important moments in Lithuanian artistic photography. He is one of the most prominent authors of the boredom aesthetics, with a unique, recognizable and still adjustable style.
