Liminal Old Growth is a mythical forest, a transitional medium between life and death, located in a virtual space created by Joanna Zabielski, enriched by Zosia Hołubowska's sound composition and Alma Bektas's installations. This sci-fi/mythological prairie is a digital abode of spirits and ghosts, inspired by Slavic pre-Christian beliefs and mythological stories of Perun, Veles and Miskini, as well as non-fictional narratives based on documentary material and testimonies. The forest consists of 3D scans made in various deliberately chosen locations in Austria, Poland and Japan, enriched with imaginary 3D models and textures. "The Boundary Sengir is the place where the Great Spirit of the Forest, butoh dancer Kana Kitty, will perform a healing ritual, dancing on the border between life and death. Butoh dance emphasises pure physicality and intense emotions. It is a reflection of the subconscious, including the darker aspects of the psyche. "In Border Sengir, Butoh dance uses the body as a tool for physical and spiritual exploration. Through 3D scanning and 360-degree video, the choreography is brought into digital space and transformed into a healing ritual.
