Rimas Čiurlionis is a painter and one of the most famous and well-known Lithuanian artists in America. In this exhibition, he presents abstract compositions on paper, canvas, wood panel and sculptures created between 2017 and 2023. When working on abstract compositions, the artist discovers a principle, a kind of equation of decision, like the relationship between sounds in music. Here, such a relationship is created through shapes, colours and lines. The artist says he avoids giving his works titles, because it seems artificial and fake. He says that it is probably more correct to call an abstract work a "composition", because then you leave the viewer free to interpret it and feel its impact. "Creation becomes clearer to me when I don't talk about personal complexes, when the clarity of shapes and colours finds its place on a piece of paper or a canvas, in a sculpture - when each shape or colour is individual and forms a unity, a wholeness, or becomes a sign of completeness, which reminds me, in the time I am given, that creativity, like man, has two origins: the sadness of the temporary and the radiance of the eternal. It is an experience that reminds us of our metaphysical presence," says the artist. The artist's work is a "a reflection of the artist's life," which is the essence of the art of the artist, "the art of the artist," he says, "The art of the artist is a reflection of the artist's life," he says.
