On November 26, the Perskusininka duo "TandemA.S." in the "Organum" concert hall will create an unexpected event for a music hall enriched with academic music. The tandem of Sigitas Gailiaus and Andriaus Rekašiaus, shaking off the influences of seriousness, academicism and "high" culture, with the melodic lines of marimba and vibraphone and the "grounded" rhythm with the help of percussion, will invite the bravest guests of the concert audience... to dance. And if you're brave enough, at least immerse yourself mentally in the magic created by percussion music, which takes you to lively, mobile, liberating fantasies that can become reality.
"TandemA.S." has prepared an exclusive program based on the variety of percussion instruments and the subtleties of virtuoso performance. The program will feature the works of the world's most famous percussion music composers. It is an interesting but also very different mix of cultures, continents and musical styles, which is united by a common timbral palette of melodic and rhythmic percussion instruments. The listener's ear will be delighted by the mesmerizing tandem of marimba and vibraphone, which is becoming an increasingly popular combination in modern music. They will be complemented by rhythmic percussion, which provides a contrasting tone and creates a sense of rhythmic dance.
Percussionists Sigitas Gailius and Andrius Rekašius have been interested in music since childhood, they took their first musical steps as pianists, but realized early on that their path was percussion. He studied music at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (A. Rekašius - and at the Norwegian Academy of Music), he is a laureate of international competitions, and he trained abroad with famous percussion pedagogues. Both percussionists are members of the percussion ensemble "Giunter percussion", actively perform in Lithuania and abroad, participate in the most important Lithuanian contemporary music festivals, and have performed with various orchestras and choirs. The musicians are also members of the percussion group of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
