ROYAL NATIONAL BALET OF SAKARTVEL (GEORGIA)
The Georgian Ballet is a celebration of life, a reflection of centuries of culture, intertwined with history, art and traditions handed down through generations. Georgian dancing is an incredible pleasure for both the audience and the dancers. No one is left indifferent after such a spectacle. The dancers' movements are so precise and flawless that it is simply worth seeing! The Tensors have an original technique - they are the only men in the world who dance on their toes without the aid of blocked shoes. It's an incredible display of masculine energy - spectacular leaps and spins performed with speed and precision beyond imagination. They seem to be flying in the sky. The dancers have a grace and charm comparable to classical ballet, where every emotion and feeling has its own traditional movement. They are gentle and calm; they take small steps and give the impression of floating. They are like swans gliding across a lake. The women's hands have to move slowly and gently... "Georgian Fire" is a whole performance united by a common idea and a common storyline." I find it hard to believe that anyone who sees real Georgian folk dancing will not have an unforgettable experience. And if you see the Royal National Ballet of Georgia in concert, it will be just perfect! - says Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer Gela Potskhishvili. The dancers were applauded by over 40 million people in 80 countries around the world, and amazed the audience with their superb technique, unparalleled artistry, courage and the unbridled expression that is unique to Georgian dance.
