The Lithuanian National Museum of Art offers a unique opportunity to meet a work of art under special conditions - in the Shedevar Room (which we originally even called "The Theatre of One Work of Art"), which was created by a large creative team over a long period of time, where a work of art will have the opportunity to present itself and perform to a single visitor, or to visitors, as if it were an actor. To gently take a lovely visitor by the hand and lead them from the buzzing street of worries and never-ending daily tasks, from the space of bad and frightening news to the slow and calmly paced, but rich, intellectual and slightly magical space of art experience. There is no such museum space anywhere in the world, and it is the fruit of an entirely Lithuanian creation. To keep the mystery and the element of surprise, we won't tell you what awaits you in the Shedeevros Room, but we have no doubt - the experience will be unforgettable. For the first presentation of this masterpiece, Frans Hals, one of the most famous painters of all time, the genius of the Dutch Golden Age, and his evangelists, have been nominated as if by fate itself. We had long intended to borrow these works from our lovely colleagues at the Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art, but the Russian aggression against Ukraine changed everything - we were no longer borrowing, but simply evacuating them from the war zone. We are extremely grateful that Ihor Poronyk, the director of the museum, and his colleagues trusted us and entrusted the priceless masterpieces to the temporary care of our museum. At the same time, it has become a unique opportunity for the Lithuanian public and visitors to Lithuania to see the works of Frans Hals, one of the greatest portraitists of all time, up close and in solitude.
