The duo of Norwegian baritone Stein Skjärvold and Lithuanian pianist Giedre Muralytė-Eriksonė, who have been performing together for more than a decade, invites the audience to travel the Nordic horizons together. In the concert programme, the performers will not only present vocal music by well-known Nordic composers, but also offer new discoveries.
S.SKJERVOLD, who comes from Norway and is currently living in Lithuania, has a rich baritone with a charming voice and a captivating timbre and emotion.SKJERVOLD holds an MA from the Norwegian State Academy of Music and has also studied at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, as well as at the Higher School of Theatre and Music in Hamburg. Since graduating, Skjervold has become an active singer in both concerts and opera productions. He has sung in productions at the Norwegian National Opera and many regional opera houses in Norway, has given numerous recitals and concerts in Norway and abroad, and his repertoire ranges from church music and operatic arias to contemporary music. His main interest lies in the Lied and art song genre: he has performed almost all the main song cycles of the German Lied tradition, as well as a number of Scandinavian, English and French romances and songs. S. Skjervoldas is a lecturer of chamber singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
G. MURALYTĖ-ERIKSONĖ - Doctor of Arts, performing as a soloist, concertmaster or member of chamber ensembles in Lithuania, France, Italy, Greece, Georgia, Germany, Finland. During her studies, she began to collaborate with singers from Lithuania and abroad. Her repertoire is very broad, but she is mainly interested in Benjamin Britten's vocal music, German Romantics and contemporary Scandinavian music. She has given recitals at Vilnius Town Hall, Kaunas State Philharmonic, Lithuanian National Philharmonic, Royal Oman Theatre, etc., and is an active participant in international festivals. For more than a decade G. Muralytė-Eriksonė has been working as a concertmaster at the LAMT Department of Singing, and she is a lecturer at the Concertmaster's Department.
