The title of the exhibition ⦋S⦌MĖLY encodes the metaphorical blue of Klaipėda region, which fits in one square metre of beach sand. The themes of the four participating artists cover broad visual horizons, symbolic maritime narratives and research and experiments in laboratories or workshops. The symbiosis of art and science explores the interrelationship with the environment and the self, as well as the exploration of climate change, sustainability, time, space, sound and colour in different formats and materialities. The choice of artistic language is based on natural forms and objects: amber, sand, sand, seaweed. Natural contours combine and invite attention to a changing world, where the artwork becomes an educational and interactive form to convey scientific content. The exhibition will be open at the KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens g. 2, Klaipėda) until 19 January.
