The team, which will soon celebrate its 60th anniversary, has released 26 albums, more than 30 singles, and sold over 30 million copies. of her records and earned several gold and platinum certificates. The group "Smokie" dates back to 1964. spring, when a group of school friends gathered in the city of Bradford, Great Britain. The slogan "Love and rock will save the world" inspired the friends so much that they decided to become real rock stars. Soon the young people, who radiated youthful energy and maximalism, were noticed and taken under their wing by famous producers and songwriters of the time, Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, who at that time worked with Sweet and Suzi Quatro.
Already Smokie's debut album "Pass It Around" received good reviews from critics and the group began to rapidly climb the music Olympus.
