Dance Mondays for toddlersDance Mondays for Toddlers are dance lessons for babies aged 8-14 months and their parents, grandparents or guardians, during which everyone will explore various objects and movements together, thus developing the physical properties of the children's bodies (coordination, balance, fine motor skills) and learning movements that not yet able to, for example, crawl, crawl, sit, walk, turn, roll, etc. During the dance lessons, the dancer-pedagogues will perform movements and their combinations together with the children, creating the conditions for the children's first dance experiences. Combining different movements is the basis not only of body coordination and correct posture, but also of understanding dance as a kinesthetic (movement) art.During the classes, adults will learn some secrets that will help them understand how children understand dance and express that understanding. For parents who want to properly educate their children, it is important to learn to notice the reactions of the little ones and receive their responses, no matter what they are - verbal or kinesthetic.Giedrė Subotinaitė and Birutė Banevičiūtė are not only well-known dance creators, but also dance pedagogues, who have worked with children for many years and conducted seminars for teachers in Lithuania and abroad (Sweden, Ukraine, Palestine, Belgium). B. Banevičiūtė is a doctor of social sciences who defended her thesis on the topic of developing children's dance abilities. Currently, both work at the Lithuanian University of Education, where they train future dance teachers. It is very important that adults who come to dance lessons adhere to the specified age limits of the child, because only in this way can educators ensure a quality process of gaining experience for little dancers. For classes, it is recommended to have clothing suitable for movement.
