The photographs of S. Lukošius, who worked at the Construction Design Institute, mainly capture the architecture and urban change of different districts of Kaunas in the 1950s and 1970s. However, they also show everyday life pulsating in the streets, the dictates of ideology, and the author's social and artistic sensitivity to the spectacles he observes in the public sphere.
The title of the exhibition is a hint that the selected photographs encourage the viewer to step away from the polished reality of everyday life, the stability and certainty of which we are convinced of, and immerse us in the recent past, where the city suddenly starts to look strange and unrecognizable.
