"Suddenly: and other ways to change" is a visual exploration of transformative sensations. How do we feel when we are overwhelmed by change? Using magic, circus and theatre, the performance explores the ongoing process of shedding old layers of oneself, and at its core, the grief that accompanies such transformations.
The work tells the story of a performer's life and some of the universal contradictions associated with personal growth. In a sense, we all want to become a better version of ourselves, but at the same time it's a process we can rarely control. The play explores themes of loss, pain and deep joy in the confusion of the changing self. If you are attending with young children, pleasechoose seats closer to the exit so that you can leave the venue quickly if necessary without disturbing other audience members enjoying the performance.
