Special Concert for the Lithuanian State Restoration Day

On February 16th we will celebrate the Lithuanian State Restoration Day. On this special occasion, the State Song and Dance Ensemble "Lietuva" presents a concert of the best of the best - from national heritage, Baltic motifs and sung poetry to contemporary music and even classical classics with an air of elegance. The audience will enjoy a tasteful selection of musical genres and styles, which promises not only an uplifting mood, but also unexpectedly revealing pieces from the ensemble's diverse repertoire. If you have not seen the musical performances "Mažvydas", "Gods and People", "The Tale of the Gifted Heart" or other programmes of the ensemble "Lietuva", or maybe you just want to repeat them, here are the most memorable episodes.

 

The best dances and musical numbers will be presented to you by the performers of the ensemble "Lietuva" choir, dance and orchestra. They will be joined by Giedrius Arbačiauskas, a popular theatre and film actor, songwriter and performer, and Monika Marija, the owner of an exceptional voice and winner of the TV musical project "Lietuvos balsas". Even the most discerning will have a different look at the ensemble, which is as lively as ever, constantly changing, but at the same time upholding our living history and values.

 

This special concert will bring us all together - a programme that is its own, recognizable and inspires us to take pride in the works of Lithuanian authors and the unique sound of folk instruments. Some of the performances will also take you back to such Lithuanian projects as the programme with the bards "I Sing You Life", the collage opera "Mažvydas", the dance performance "Uncles and Uncles", "The Saga of the Gifted Heart" or even the French classical-inspired "A Kiss From France".
