Event description
The exhibition "Lighthouses - a symbol of light and hope" features works created during the 21st Enamel Art Laboratory "Pamari Zenklai - 2024". The year 2024 is dedicated to one of the most unique objects of the region's cultural heritage - the lighthouse. The lighthouse is not only a means of navigation for water travellers, but also a powerful philosophical symbol embodying light, hope and communication. This year, the Kintai Vydūnas Museum is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of its founding, symbolically becoming a lighthouse of the Pamarians - a place where Vydūnas' philosophy, his educational and creative activities are preserved and cherished. Vydūnas is not by chance called the awakener of the Lithuanian nation's consciousness and a beacon of peace. For more than two decades, the Kintai Vydūnas Cultural Centre has been organising the enamel art symposia "Pamario ženklai". The aim of these events is to popularise the hot enamel technique and to introduce artists to the culture, history, traditions and unique landscape of the Pamari region. The theme of the 2024 enamel laboratory is "Lighthouse - a symbol of light and hope". It is dedicated to the Year of Lighthouses and the anniversary of the Vydūnas Museum. The exhibition will be held at the Klaipėda Gallery of the Klaipėda Branch of the LDS Klaipėda Chapter (Bažnyčių g. 6) until 21 December.
