Internationally acclaimed bandoneon virtuoso Ariel Ramirez (Argentina), together with his tango quintet and singer Giedrius Prunskas, presents an authentic project "Tango with Valentin". This project is a return to the world of Buenos Aires, to those times of great change when a new sound was born and the new tango was criticised, loved, hated and celebrated. These are the times of revolutionary tango, and this programme is a tribute to the authentic, real sound of tango and to the indescribable feeling of love and passion that tango music exudes. The programme will feature works by Astor Piazzolla and other world classics of Argentine tango, as well as tango ballads performed by the singing host, G. Prunskaus, together with breathtaking performances by the dancers, and will take you back to the world of Buenos Aires in the 1950s - the most beautiful golden age of authentic tango.

ARIEL RAMIREZ is a versatile performer, composer, arranger, tango dancer and choreographer, member of the jury of the World Tango Championships, founder of El Tango Club Espacio Cultural and the unique museum of Argentine tango culture. His name is not coincidentally the same as Ariel Ramirez, one of Argentina's most famous composers, who composed the legendary Missa Criolla. He is the grandson of this great composer. A charismatic and virtuosic musician, he performs in major concert halls, with a repertoire ranging from Argentine tango to Latin American sacred works and music for symphony orchestra. His long experience, recognition and dedication to music make his concert programmes unforgettable.

The Ariel Ramirez Tango Quintet was founded fourteen years ago with the aim of paying tribute to the authentic sound of the Argentine tango. The quintet is an international ensemble, modelled on the typical Piazzolla quintet (bandoneon, violin, guitar, piano and double bass), and therefore best captures the complete and rich sound of tango music. The music performed by the quintet is very sensitive, very telling, very powerful and moving, capable of lifting you above the everyday, the history, the way of life, and most importantly of overwhelming your senses and feelings, dancing passionately among the chords and sounds of the Argentine tango.
