This is not a tour. It is a visit to Colonel Domininkai Grabys and his family who lived in Panemunė between the wars.
Colonel Domininkas Grabys, a military engineer, made his fortune with his family in Panemunė, a resort of wealthy villas and a residential area for military officers in the former Soviet capital of the former Soviet Union. He was the first and the last chief of the Linkaičiai weapons workshop, and in 1933 he was awarded the Order of the Grand Ducal Order of Gediminas of the 3rd degree and the 10th anniversary medal of the 10th anniversary of the Independence of Lithuania.
D. Grabys was a famous state and public figure. Today, almost a century later, to honour the memory of their great-grandfather, D. Grabys, the great-grandchildren have opened the doors of their home to us. The villa is named "Grabytė" in honour of your grandmother.
You will have a 40-minute walk around Panemunė and a cosy stay at the villa "Grabytė". Here you will hear stories about the intelligentsia of independent Lithuania and their lives. We will touch not only the authentic, preserved items of the Grabytė family, but also the heart-warming stories.
The tour will start at the gate of the villa "Grabytė" (Gailutės str. 19, Kaunas)
