On 24 June, 8 pm, we invite you to another spectacular concert of authentic music from distant lands - the band TARTIT from Mali will perform at the Kirtimai Culture Centre! TARTIT is one of the leaders of the Tuareg music scene, and one of the few bands that are predominantly female. The concert in Vilnius will feature four of them, accompanied by two guitarists.

🔵 TARTIT was formed in 1995 in exile between the Mauritanian and Burkinabe refugee camps. All its members are from the Timbuktu region, in the town of Goundam. The group's aim is to sing about exile, love, peace and the political situation of the Tuareg people, and to preserve the traditional Tuareg music, which is slowly disappearing.

🔵 TARTIT concerts are an invitation to travel to the desert. Their hypnotic music inevitably takes you to the mystical world of Kel Tamasheq (the Tuareg-speaking people). The magic of the performance is enhanced by the beauty of the traditional clothing and authentic instruments, while the songs are composed of traditional and contemporary melodies.

🔵 At the concert in Vilnius, TARTIT will be presenting their latest album "Amankor / The Exile", as well as more traditional songs from their rich repertoire.
