TIGER TRIO - Nicole Mitchell, Joelle Leandre, Myra Melford (USA, France)Nicole Mitchell - flJoelle Leandre - dbMyra Melford - MrTiger Trio will be the guests of the "Vilnius Mama Jazz" festival - three recognized artists, bathing in the joy of spontaneous music creation. All of them are bright personalities of free and improvisational jazz, who have proven their abilities individually, and together create a sense of incredible musical community. American pianist Myra Melford, flutist Nicole Mitchell and French double bassist Joëlle Léandre have been famous in the improvisational music scene for several decades, and seven years ago they appeared on stage together and began to write the already colorful history of the Tiger Trio. The trio came together during Myra Melford's residency at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The jazz and improvisational music program was crowned by a festival where the pianist invited Nicole and Joëlle to join. After leaving the stage, the musicians had no doubts - a rare spark of common creative energy flared up between them. In 2016, the trio released the impressive album "Unleashed", and in 2018 - the album "Map Of Liberation", which was born during a concert tour of the United States and Europe. The group's activities almost immediately attracted the attention of music critics and jazz connoisseurs - it is not surprising, because even before the beginning of "Tiger Trio", each of these musicians managed to leave a bright mark in cultural life.EURORADIO JAZZ ORCHESTRACommander Jievar JasinskisAxel Mårdsjö - asax (SR/SE), Pavlo Barabashchuk - asax (UA:PBC/UE), Emma Rawicz - tsax (BBC/UK), Joël Metz - tsax (MSP/LU), Karolis Šarkus - bsax (LRT/LT ), Agnes Darelid - trmb (SR/SE), Carlotta Armbruster - trmb (WDR/DE), Guro Kvåle - trmb (NRK/NO), Christina Lachberger - btrmb (ORF/AT), Martin Declercq - tpt (Radio France/ FR), Reinis Puriņš - tpt (LR/LV), János Löber - tpt (DKU/DE), Maj Kavšek - tpt (RTVSLO/SI), Rahel Talts – p, keys (ERR/EE), Kryštof Tomeček – ag, eg (CR/CZ), Oskari Siirtola – db, bg (YLE/FI), Bruna Matić – dr (HRT/HR), Zaccary Leblond – perc, vib/mar (Radio France/FR)The Euroradio Jazz Orchestra is an international youth big band, each time assembled in a different country from the best musicians delegated by public broadcasters. In 2023, Lithuania will become the headquarters of this orchestra for the first time, and the smooth implementation of its activities will be ensured by LRT.The birth date of the orchestra is 1965, when the members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) began to annually propose the best jazz musicians of their countries, from which the orchestra was formed. It was an elite international collective known as the EBU Big Band. In 2005, the Danish organization "Swinging Europe" took over its patronage and offered to concentrate on attracting young talents, so the collective continued to exist as the European Youth Jazz Orchestra, becoming a prestigious talent forge. In 2008, he was already called the European Jazz Orchestra and soon took part in impressive tours around the world. Since 2014 the name Euroradio Jazz Orchestra was established and it was agreed that each time a different broadcaster would host the orchestra in their country, ensuring a worthy program of an international team, conditions for rehearsals, logistics and, of course, a live Euroradio broadcast. This is how he was assembled in the Czech Republic, Switzerland, France, Latvia, Austria, Germany... This year, LRT KLASIKA offered the Euroradio Jazz Producers Community to assemble this jazz orchestra in Lithuania and realize the musical visions of Jievar Jasinskis.
