TRIO AGORA is a trio of charismatic musicians who are laureates of various prestigious international competitions and regularly perform at concert halls in Europe, but also in Lithuania. At the concert on 21 July, the audience will hear the programme of the ensemble's latest album "Hotel Tango", which will be released in 2023 with the German record label Accentus Music.
Trio Agora presents a brand new, original version of Ástor Piazzolla's The Four Seasons, composed by the trio's clarinettist Žilvinas Brazauskas, as well as a piece dedicated to the ensemble by the Canadian-American composer Joel Hoffman, "Foxtrot Romeo Juliet Hotel Tango", as well as other original arrangements, among which will be the origin of the Tango: mazurkas, waltzes and contra dances, as well as works by academic composers.
The mission of the members of the trio is to share their fascination with tango music, which has been thriving for a century and a half and has never ceased to shape us, as we have it. Where did tango come from and how many people and cultures have been captivated by the rhythms, songs and dances of this genre? "Trio Agora seeks to express the vast scope of tango music by selecting pieces that each have a unique history and have contributed to the evolution of the style. "Hotel Tango is a kind of international tango manifestation, taking listeners from the salons of Paris to the small streets of Buenos Aires, through the United States, Latin America, West Africa and Eastern Europe. Many of the works presented are like narratives that pay homage to the original compositions in the form of arrangements and transcriptions.
