,,...I will never know how you see red, and you will never know how I see it. But this difference of consciousness is only recognised when we fail to communicate, and our first instinct is to believe that there is an indivisible being between us." Red to love, red to hate, red to fear, red to seek, red to hunger. RED is the echoes of a personal search for a point of neutrality, imbued with the horror of today's current events and the desire to find a safe haven of inner peace. The paintings in the exhibition merge with sculptures, the collected objects of nature intertwine with urban details, what should be calming turns into disturbing spots and shapes. The works, created in order to get rid of feelings, absorb them, become a kind of map/diary. The works in the exhibition are united by various artefacts collected by the presumed protagonist. A being whose footprints are absorbed into the earth in red. Ugnė Upė Pilitauskaitė - a being from Žemaitija, living in Vilnius, exploring the world. She graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2022 with a degree in Graphic Art (Illustration). She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Sculpture. Her work explores the traces of mythology in the 21st century, the relationship between the city and nature, fused with anxiety, fear and control.
