Let's go for a walk around Vilnius that you haven't seen, or rather, haven't noticed, because you've just walked by. Not so long ago, what we now call the Old Town of the capital was an entire city, with life bustling not only in its main squares and streets, but also in its courtyards and back yards. Even a frequent visitor to Vilnius would be taken aback by how many secrets and stories come from behind the glittering facades of Vilnius, and how many curiosities are hidden there: churches that have been demolished or turned into houses, the remnants of a defensive wall, the courtyards of monasteries that were once closed off, colourful mosaics, strange sculptures, wooden galleries, vases decorated with flowers and lizards... Even if you have already been on a tour of Vilnius courtyards, you will still be surprised by the labyrinth of newly discovered courtyards, passageways and cross streets.
🥚 Starting point: 19 Aušros vartų str.
