Demosthenes, enjoying a sunny day on a queer beach in Athens, offers to help his friend Nikitas write a screenplay based on his personal experiences. In his mind's eye, Demosthenes is transported back in time to his father's illness, his postponed holiday plans, his ex-boyfriend and the orphaned dog he took in, named Carmen.
