Rimantas Kmita's novel "Pietinia Kronikos" has sparked a wave of interest in Šiauliai's Southern District. What did it mean to grow up and live in this "wild" district? What is special about Soviet urban architecture, and could it have led to the social problems prevalent here? Julijus Aleksovas, vocalist of the band Colours of Bubbles, who comes from Pietinis, talks to prominent local people and architectural experts about this. The courtyards of the block of flats, steeped in legend, fuel curiosity and nostalgia, while musical interludes and archive footage from the 1980s, the formative years of Pietinis, complement the conversations about the district. The film is the second part of the documentary series "Faces of the Districts". Julija Juknaitė graduated in piano from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, then turned to video directing, filming both classical and rave concerts, and making music videos. In 2021, after founding her own production studio "Subito Anšlagas", she initiated the documentary series "Faces of the Districts".
In the film, with the presenter Julijum Aleksovas, R. Kmita, architectural historian Marija Drėmaitė, architects Aušra Černiauskienė, Margarita Kaučikaitė, Algimantas Černiauskas, autoguru Paulius Šuipys, musician Tomas Grubliauskis, rugby coach Sigitas Kukulskis, and other heroes, who feel the pulse of Pietinis.
