Event description
The Puppet Carriage Theatre in Panevėžys starts with a premiere in 2024. It invites the audience to a brand new performance - The Story of One Christmas Tree, based on the fairy tale by H. K. Andersen, dir. K. Grosman.
The play is based on the fairy tale "The Christmas Tree" by the famous Danish fairy tale writer H.K. Andersen, in which the author tells the story of a lifetime that is not entirely happy. H.K. Andersen, who saw life through the eyes of a child, a poet and a philosopher, created fairy tales that reflect the many patterns of child psychology. In his work, objects, animals and plants are humanised, and behind their quite unchildlike vices lies the essence of life and human relationships, mercy and sadness at life's imperfections.
The Story of a Christmas Tree, the main character of the play, the Christmas Tree, is a timid, restless fantasist, a perpetually discontented reverend who has never experienced a moment of happiness, either because she was always hoping for something better than she is now, or because she was nostalgic for the past. The fabulousness of the play is due to the principle of humanisation. This multi-layered work provokes a variety of perceptions and interpretations not only for the youngest audience members but also for their parents. After visiting the performance, everyone will realise, or perhaps remember, that it is necessary to enjoy every moment of life, to be happy now and not to look for perfection somewhere else.
