The Kaunas Philharmonic will host the world-class harpsichordist, organist and conductor from Italy - CLAUDIO ASTRONIO. His recordings of harpsichord and organ music have won numerous international awards. He has performed extensively in Europe, the USA, South America and Japan, giving masterclasses and masterclasses. Astronio made his film debut in 2017, appearing with the Theresia Youth Baroque Orchestra under his direction in the film Zoroastro: io, Giacomo Casanova, and in 2019 he played the lead role in La Corda spezzata (The Broken String), a film about the life and work of composer Alessandro Stradella. In addition to early music, the artist is interested in jazz and popular music, and collaborates with various artists.

C. Astronio will present a programme dedicated to the Bach family line. The concert will feature works by the German Baroque composer and organist Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons, the composers Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. The latter composer was a resident of Vilnius for some time and composed a number of excellent works here. For a long time, Bach's works from this period were unknown, but Astronio, who discovered the Vilnius Manuscript seven years ago, is delighted to have the opportunity to present for the first time to Lithuanian audiences the opuses born in this country. A rarely heard recording of Bach's works has already been released by Brilliant Classics and will now be available live.
