The Arkada Duo ensemble - violinist Karolina Beinarytė-Palekauskienė and pianist Daiva Stulgytė - have been playing together for four years. During this time, the ensemble has performed extensively and has prepared three concert programmes. Their fourth programme is entitled "All Roads Lead to Romanticism". It focuses on the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when many new directions and styles appeared in music. The programme will feature music from the Romantic and Impressionist styles, as well as music by the lesser-performed composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold, whose style is difficult to describe in one word. The American-born composer's work is intertwined with a variety of styles and is highly theatrical and colourful. The concert will feature soloist Martynas Beinaris, so you can compare instrumental and vocal music by the same composers.
