The extravagant US music star Yves Tumor returns to the capital
The tour poster published by Yves Tumor and featuring Vilnius was certainly not a mistake, even though it sparked a lot of astonishment and discussion on social media. 8 Days A Week, the music agency looking further afield, confirms that Yves Tumor, the star of last year's excellent new album Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume, is returning from the United States to the capital city.
This is the second time that Yves Tumor has marked Vilnius in his concert plans. A nice continuation of the concerts in the courtyard of the Lukiškės Prison. Yves Tumor, the hero of the first 8 Festival, will repay a debt of sorts and give another very valuable open-air concert on 12 August.
Advance concert arrangements
Advance tickets are always cheaper. Tickets for Yves Tumor's show in the capital will go on sale on Friday, but fans of the artist in the Baltics can buy advance tickets now. However, this requires a code from 8 Days A Week. Send a message on Facebook or at www.8dw.lt and you'll get a special code to save money. The presale starts on 22 May at 11am. Codes will be valid for a very limited time. The Presale ends on 24 May at 11am.
Classic of the genre - the cheapest tickets will be enough for the fastest.

It happens - the artist is always on the side of the road, but we don't get to know him or her better. Yves Tumor, whose real name is Sean Lee Bowie, is not to be confused with anyone else. A rock star, a fashion icon, an actor and a true performer. A distinctive look, voice, interweaving of different genres, surprisingly without becoming a noisy cacophony. The result is a mystical ritual creature with an incredible talent for writing lyrics. The artist boldly plays with and modifies the boundaries of contemporary art and culture, enriching them with his authentic signature. His music has a full spectrum of colours, from stadium hits, fanfare and Prince influences, to slow ballads and dark, brooding tracks.
Whatever genre comparisons are made here, they only lead to the fact that music doesn't need to be boxed in, nor does it need to be defined by what doesn't need to be defined. Dissonance in Yves Tumor's music sounds like harmony, giving clarity to the soul.
No one goes to a live concert like this just to nod their head, which would be extremely annoying for Yves Tumor himself. It is not only important, but a must. Every performance is like a new performance, where Sean himself doesn't understand whether the audience wants to kill him or sleep with him. There are a lot of contact exchanges, but that's what happens when a creature like this awakens something deep inside the soul and frees it for an ecstatic journey.
Last year, the influential British label Warp released a new album by Yves Tumor, which not only satiated the thirsty ears of the music lovers, but also received a lot of good reviews and shouts of admiration from the most serious music reviewers around the world. It was deservedly hailed as one of the best albums of the year. It was also very well received by music lovers in Lithuania.
"Yves Tumor's latest album is a shimmering, richly detailed world. You can feel the culmination of Yves Tumor's growing talent and ambition on this album," proclaimed music snobs Pitchfork, who gave the album a score of 8.4 out of 10.
The artist's new album is his most intimate and personal statement yet, taking the listener on a conceptually diverse spiritual journey.
"Yves Tumor has transformed himself into a hungry rock god, a masterful songwriter whose every new release demands a lot of attention," declared Consequence on its music news portal.
"Yves Tumor embodies and wields the unique power to redefine music as we know it and so much more."
"Yves Tumor juggles a myriad of genres and easily adapts them to his unique sound. The alternative rock superstar has crafted some of the most memorable and open lyrics to date," is how The Guardian described Yves Tumor's latest album.
About Yves Tumor
Those familiar with the character will realise that we've already made a mistake here. To know Yves Tumor well is impossible. The artist keeps his life very private, so no one knows his real name or where he is currently living, let alone the even more intimate details of his life. So Sean, if that is his real name, often plays this card and simply fabricates information about himself in the public domain.
The reason for this veil of secrecy is simple - he doesn't want his fans to get the wrong impression that they know someone they don't really know. There is already too much openness and illusion in the digitalised era. "Sometimes fans cross the line and exploit this connection, and it becomes a very worrying situation that is difficult to change. That's why I started talking less about myself online, so that they don't have the opportunity to cross that line," explains Yves Tumor.
Yves Tumor started making music when he was 17. Growing up in Tennessee, music helped him escape his boring, conservative environment.
"I would just shut myself in my room for the whole summer, instead of spending all my time in the park with my friends, smoking weed," says Yves, who learned to play drums, bass, acoustic and electric guitar on his own at home. He had to learn the keyboards after his parents took away all his guitars because of poor grades at school.
The first published recordings of Yves Tumor were simply made through GarageBand. Today, Yves boasts an amazing career, four full albums in his career and one and a half million listeners on his Spotify account every month.
No less than 28 shows have been announced for this tour. It's great to see Vilnius back on the artist's schedule. Yves Tumor and his team will arrive in Lithuania from Helsinki, where he will be on the stage of the very trendy Flow Festival.
We are looking forward to another exceptional concert.
Let's go everybody!
See you all!
