International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival presents the concert "Searching for the Stars", featuring the most famous film hits performed by the Xylos Trio, a piano trio based in the European capital of classical music.From John Williams, the composer with the most Oscar nominations to date, who has composed soundtracks for films such as Schindler's List and Harry Potter, to Ennio Morricone, the award-winning Italian composer of the music of Tweeny Pyx and The Intouchables. From the epic chords of "Star Wars" and "Gladiator" to the lyrical melodies of "The Lion King" and the painterly Čiurlionis, you are in for an unforgettable evening of truly wonderful music.
It is also a great opportunity to listen to the Xyla Trio, a trio that rarely performs in Lithuania, but which is a favourite with a demanding audience.
The ensemble, which was formed in the capital city of Austria, features performers from Lithuania and Croatia. Graduate of the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, violinist Ieva Pranskutė and Croatian cellist Mislav Brajković met while studying at the University of Music and Fine Arts in Vienna. Elžbieta Dvarionaitė, another Lithuanian pianist, joined the ensemble a little later and immediately brought a brilliant lightness and energy to the ensemble.
Although the ensemble is young, it has already managed to win several prestigious competitions, earn the respect of professionals and the love of the public. The courage to explore new musical horizons and, along with the acclaimed masterpieces of the classics, to add gems by contemporary composers to the repertoire, has opened the doors of prestigious halls and the hearts of the audience to the ensemble.

Although their journey together has lasted 5 years, the Xylos Trio's unwavering passion and dedication has led these young virtuosos to grace the stages of Vienna's most famous concert halls, such as the Wiener Musikverein, the Radio Kulturhaus Wien, and the F. Schubert Haus. Under the professional hand of Prof. Johannes Meissl, the renowned Artis Quartet of the Vienna University of Music and Fine Arts, their musical journey is progressing well.
Their repertoire is a treasure trove of musical gems, seamlessly weaving together classical masterpieces with the cheeky touches of contemporary composers from Austria, Germany, France and Lithuania. Their artistic canvas, richly embellished, is a striking testimony to the versatility of music.
Invitations abound as the Xylos Trio embarks on fascinating projects inspired by luminaries such as Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Reinhard Latzko, Pavel Vernikoff, Evgeni Sinaiski and Vadim Gluzman etc. Their collaboration with the avant-garde ARTBAUM company and their participation in renowned music festivals such as Junge Talente, International Holland Music Session, Schubertiade, Steirisches Kammermusik Festival, Wien Modern have left their mark on Vienna's musical landscape.
