Born in 1968 and revived in 2008 thanks to the help of cultural enthusiasts, Lithuania's first jazz festival Jaunystė will invite music lovers to jazz in Elektrėnai on 30 August. The free event, which will take place in the square of the Elektrėnai Culture Centre, will bring together young and renowned jazz bands and unique projects of jazz and related music styles to improvise.

"Jaunystė", which was revived in 2008 after a 40-year hiatus, every year on the last weekend of the summer, proves that Elektrėnai has given Lithuania not only the lights of the day and night, but also the gift of jazz festivals. This year's event will introduce jazz fans to well-known jazz soloists and ensembles, as well as a programme of joint projects prepared especially for the festival," said Vitas Umbrasas, the organiser of the festival Jaunystė.
