In 2015, Vilnius St. after the installation of the largest carillon in northeastern Europe, consisting of 61 bells, in the tower of the Church of the Apostles Philip and Jacob, several concerts were held, which aroused great interest of the residents and guests of the capital. Therefore, the first Vilnius carillon festival was organized in 2017, diversifying the city's cultural program and attracting about 5,000 listeners of various ages.
In 2018, it grew into an international event. As many as seven free concerts were organized by carillionaires from Japan, Belgium, Spain, Holland, Poland, France and Lithuania. They played both well-known and new works by other authors as well as their own works on the carillon.
Carillon music is best heard in the churchyard of the Dominican Monastery (Vasario 16-osios str. 11) or in the renovated Lukiškiau square, so we invite you to sit comfortably and have fun on Wednesday evenings. And in case of bad weather, the concerts will be played in the church itself.
The third international Vilnius carillon festival took place from July 10 to August 7, 2019. The theme is carillon plus. At concerts, the carillon sounded with saxophone, guitar, vocals, harmonica and electronics.
Five pop music evenings took place at the 2020 Pandenia festival from July 8 to August 5. There was a live broadcast on the portal 15min.lt
