At the beginning of the concert, two divertissements for the orchestra by Motiejas Radvila will be played. Duke M. Radvila, composer of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, writer, politician, castelion of Vilnius, 1788 settled in Vilnius and created a number of works. It is believed that the opuses for the orchestra played in this concert were written in the capital of the LDK. Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 94 in G major, Hob. I:94 ("Surprise") is one of twelve so-called "London symphonies" composed between 1791 and 1795. and are considered the pinnacle of Haydn's rich orchestral work. When writing them, the composer used all his experience accumulated over 40 years of musical activity. Concerto for violin, piano and orchestra in D minor, MWV O4 Felix Mendelssohn wrote at the age of 13, and this opus only confirms the mastery of his early work. It is a fully mature, impressive work, in which Bach's influence on the young Mendelssohn is evident, both in the solo instruments and in the orchestral parts.
