XX International opening concert of Tytuvėnai summer festival
The jubilee 20th Tytuvėnai Summer Festival, which will begin on June 25, will invite listeners to the opening concert at Kelmė St. In the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The festival, which has been gathering listeners of classical music for two decades, will look for commonality between the great world classics and the works of Lithuanian composers in its anniversary program.
The festival, which has become a tradition, is the only professional music art event in Šiauliai County, lasting all three summer months and covering almost all districts of Šiauliai County. The main concerts of the festival take place in the 17th century. in the cultural heritage object in the ensemble of the Tytuvėnai Bernardine church and monastery. Other concerts of the festival are held in the most beautiful spaces of the Šiauliai region, in cultural heritage objects (manor houses, churches, cultural centers), where festival listeners get to know cultural heritage objects and natural objects of interest located in protected areas alongside the festival events. The festival has become a center of attraction for cultural tourism in the region, both for residents of the surrounding areas and for those who came from the most remote cities of Lithuania.
The opening concert of the festival will feature the music of the great classics conducted by the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Robert Šerveniks and soloists Lauryna Bendžiūnaitė (soprano) and Liepa Jurgutavičiūtė (violin).
The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra - a long-time guest of the Tytuvėnai Summer Festival, made its debut in 1989. The orchestra's activities began in the year of Sąjūdis and developed in parallel with the history of restored Independence. It is not for nothing that the collective's first name was the Youth Symphony Orchestra. A young country, young musicians, a young conductor and great hopes for the future. Although the solid name of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra has been given already after three years of operation, the musicians and their leader are still continuing their youthful traditions.
Lauryna Bendžiūnaitė is one of the brightest stars of the Lithuanian opera, making the name of Lithuania famous all over the world. A Lithuanian woman living in Germany says that "Singing is my psychotherapy, the embodiment of all my fantasies and the legal realization of all emotions and actions, for which I also get paid." I am a better person when I sing. Better, more beautiful and more interesting, capable of radiating a brighter life to everyone around."
16-year-old violinist Liepa Jurgutavičiūtė persistently pursues a career as a violinist. The girl glorifies the name of the Lithuanian and National Mikalojas Konstantinas Čiurlionis School of Arts with her passion for music, is a scholarship holder of the Mstislav Rostropovičius Charity and Support Fund "Help for Lithuanian Children", laureate and prize winner of various international competitions.
