ROBERTAS ŠERVENIKAS (b. 1966), graduated from the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, obtained diplomas in choral, opera and symphonic conducting at the St. Petersburg N. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. His international career as a conductor began in 1997, when Mstislav Rostropovich invited him as an assistant to the Evian Festival during the production of S. Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet". Since 1998 they performed together in the most famous halls of the world. In addition, R. Šerveniks conducted various ensembles in almost all European countries, Japan, the Republic of South Africa, Brazil, Israel, and Russia. His memorable concerts in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Madrid Auditorium de nationale, Frankfurt Alte Oper, London Cadogan Hall, Berlin Konzerthaus, Osaka Festival Hall and Symphony Hall , Tokyo's Suntory Hall, Metropolitan Art Space, Cologne, Hamburg, St. Petersburg philharmonic halls.

The conductor's repertoire constantly balances between opera, ballet and symphonic music, but contemporary works occupy a special place in it. R. Šervenikas is the first performer of the works of many Lithuanian composers, who has recorded several dozen CDs of contemporary music, including with "Naxos", "Finlandia records" and other record companies.
