For the first time, a recital by Maestro Petros Geniuš will be performed in the Tytuvėnai monastery.
Among Lithuanian performers, PETRAS GENIUŠAS stands out for his versatility of interests and constant, often risky search for new forms of expression, unusual musical and spiritual experiences. Having mastered a wide repertoire of classical, romantic and contemporary works, he organizes recitals and performs as a soloist with Lithuanian symphony orchestras, various chamber ensembles and soloists, conductors. His stage partners are M. Rostropovičius, J. Menuchin, R. Katilius, A. Kniazev, D. Gering, V. Noreika, V. Čekasin, V. Tarasov. However, the role of a classical pianist is too small for Petrus Genius: it is not uncommon to see him on stage accompanying drama performances, ballet or even cabaret, participating in projects that cross jazz and various musical styles. His innate curiosity encourages him not to limit himself to the experience and activities of a classical pianist, tirelessly expanding his musical horizons - from the English virginalists and the folklore of various nations of the world to avant-garde music, jazz and electronics. In return, all these interests enrich the classical music practice of Petr Geniuš. Next to cultivated musical taste, technique and sensitivity to sound, this is apparently one of the most valuable qualities of this pianist.
