Based on Justinas Marcinkevičius' poem "The Wedding of the Spider", the musical performance for children created by the Klaipėda Youth Theatre is a witty and instructive story and a musical allegory that highlights our own vices. During the performance, the audience will get to know the imposing and sinister Tabalai the Spider, his minions the beetles and the birds that protect the sun from the Spider. And not only will they get to know the birds, but the whole audience, children and their parents alike, will be able to take part in the fight for the sun themselves.
The performance "The Wedding of the Spider" is notable for its unexpected scenography. The actors create costumes and props out of simple but rediscovered objects, such as work gloves that become bird feathers. This is not an accidental choice. The actors of Klaipėda Youth Theatre want children not only to have a great time at the theatre, but also to develop their imagination and fantasy and unleash their unlimited creative possibilities.
