Composer Nijolė Sinkevičiūtė (b. 1956) strives to create a separate world of ideas and expression for each of her works, resisting, in the words of the creator herself, "a kind of cloud of circumstances". The area of her work that the public is most familiar with is music for the choir, which the author got to know in her early childhood. Her musical works are heard both in Lithuania and abroad, without her songs the repertoire of song holidays is unimaginable. By "instrumenting" the word and the text in a way, N. Sinkevičiūtė turns the choir into an orchestra that opens up the various possibilities of the human voice. Often, the musical soundscape of choral works is enriched with theatrical elements, the dynamics of movement and gesture are united by the plot. It is not rare that the influence of a folk song, which is exceptionally important for the composer, emerges in the music of the creator. N. Sinkevičiūtė has written a lot of music for children, and the composer's music for the piano has been included in author's sheet music publications. Lately, both drama and musical theater are increasingly becoming the space for her creative experiments.
