The duet of the famous Lithuanian pianists Petros Geniuš and Justas Šerveniks will be performed in the space of Telšiai Yeshiva, the partner of the international Chaim Frenkel Villa summer festival.
Petras Geniušas is one of the most famous and unique Lithuanian pianists who has gained international recognition. Among Lithuanian performers, he stands out for his versatility of interests and constant, often risky search for new forms of expression, unusual musical and spiritual experiences. Having mastered a wide repertoire of classical, romantic and contemporary works, P. Geniušas prepares recitals and performs as a soloist with Lithuanian symphony orchestras, various chamber ensembles and soloists, conductors. His stage partners are former M. Rostropovičius, J. Menuchin, R. Katilius, A. Kniazev, D. Geringas, V. Noreika, V. Chekasin, V. Tarasov. However, the role of a classical pianist is too small for Petrus Genius: it is not uncommon to see him on stage accompanying drama performances, ballet or even cabaret, participating in projects that cross jazz and various musical styles. His innate curiosity encourages him not to limit himself to the experience and activities of a classical pianist, tirelessly expanding his musical horizons - from the English virginalists and the folklore of various nations of the world to avant-garde music, jazz and electronics. In return, all these interests enrich the classical music practice of Petr Geniuš. Next to cultivated musical taste, technique and sensitivity to sound, this is apparently one of the most valuable qualities of this pianist.
Justas Šerveniks is a talented, one of the brightest Lithuanian pianists of his generation, who has been delighting the fans of the festival for many years with concerts together with famous Lithuanian and foreign artists. He has performed many times in all the most important halls of Lithuania, toured almost ten European countries and Mexico, played with most Lithuanian orchestras and the San Luis Potosí Symphony Orchestra (Mexico).
