LVSO| LOVE DAY CONCERT: LAURYNA BENDŽIŪNAITĖ AND IEVA PRUDNIKOVAITĖ
Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra's Love Day Concert will feature two of the brightest stars of Lithuanian opera, Lauryna Bendžiūnaitė and Ieva Prudnikovaitė. Together with the orchestra, the soloists have prepared an intriguing and unexpected programme for the Love Day evening, ranging from Mozart's most beautiful arias of all time to contemporary works arranged especially for the soloists. In 2013, the soloist won the first prize at the international competition "Art of the 21st Century" in Kiev, and in 2010 she was awarded the main prize at the Pavarotti Prize competition. After moving to Germany in 2014 to work at the Stuttgart Opera Theatre, Bendžiuūnaitė soon put down roots. Recently, she has been welcomed by opera houses in Potsdam, Hamburg, Strasbourg, Rome and many more.
I. Prudnikovaitė graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2008 and won the International Singing Competition in Cologne (Germany). From 2008 to 2014 I. Prudnikovaitė was a soloist at the Aalto Opera Theatre in Essen (Germany). One of the most prominent roles of the singer is Carmen in Bizet's opera Carmen, which Prudnikovaitė has performed at the Aalto and Braunschweig opera theatres in Germany, the Latvian National Opera and the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. For the latter role, she was awarded the Opera Lighthouse Award for Opera Soloist of the Year in 2009. In 2022, the singer's star shone on the Swiss stage, with Prudnikovaitė playing the lead role in Ástor Piazzolla's tango opera Maria from Buenos Aires at the St.Gallen Opera Theatre.
The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Julius Geniušas this evening. Julius Geniušas has been working at Kaunas State Music Theatre since 1986 and since 2015 he has been conductor of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
