The one-act play "Counterpoint" is a parallel to our own everyday life. Today's society of glitterati and narcissists learns the same lesson every day as the hero of Süskind's drama - if you overestimate your abilities, you are left to protest against the world's overlooking of your talents and hating it. Or finally to realise that you are just one instrument in a big orchestra, probably not even a double bass but a rattle. This performance by Klaipėda Youth Theatre is a tragicomic monologue of a double bassist disillusioned with himself, music and the world. It reveals to the audience the drama of a small man - how to accept the fact that you will never play a solo part, that you will never stand in the front row, that you are only a minor character in your own life.
