Boys and youth choir "Ažuoliukas" was founded in 1959. Herman Perelštein's initiative, today he is undoubtedly one of the best-known names in the world of Lithuanian music. It is a unique combination of several choirs - from toddlers to men's - and a music school (founded in 1979). Since 1979 until now, the artistic director and chief conductor of "Ažuoliuko" is Vytautas Miškinis. In choir, boys learn much more than just the basics of music. Maybe that's why many members of this collective do not hesitate to call "Ažuoliuka" a school of life and a second home. It is a space where the child fully matures for an independent life. Today, "Ažuoliukas" consists of eight separate choirs, in which several hundred children, teenagers and men sing. "Ažuoliukas" has long gone beyond the traditional framework of musical education, becoming a kind of forge of personality, leaving a mark on everyone who had the chance to stay in this collective for at least a little longer.
