The concert is dedicated to the memory of cellist Raimundas Jasiukaitis, former longtime musician of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, who played in the ensemble "Musica humana" from 1989 to 2015. "I joined the "Musicos humanos" collective very organically, I had already mastered the manner of playing baroque music. Of course, at the beginning I received criticism and everything, but the basso continuo part is the "backbone" of the whole ensemble and I performed this mission of mine with complete love and dedication. I can confidently say that this ensemble has been my whole life," said Raimundas Jasiukaitis. The cellist said the following about the ensemble's repertoire: "Baroque music has a great significance in my life. I played a lot, listened to and analyzed the works of baroque composers. Many Lithuanian composers collaborated with "Musica humana". The work of Algirdas Martinaitis was especially important. He is one of my favorite composers. It is always a great pleasure to perform the premieres of works by composers from my country. Each creator brought something new to our ensemble."
In this concert, the bright memory Raimundas Jasiukaitis will be remembered by both "Musica humana" and well-known Lithuanian performers of various generations - younger ones who have played music together, who seem to have inherited a sincere devotion to music from a talented colleague. The works of composers from the Baroque and other eras, sounding under the vaults of the church, will invite listeners to experience the power of great art and the joy of communication through music.
